Reliable
barging
On a daily basis, BTT transports large numbers of containers by inland vessel to and from the seaports in Rotterdam and Antwerp. Together with operators of other barge terminals on the Tilburg-Rotterdam route, BTT bundles the container volumes per deepsea terminal. This West Brabant Corridor became a success formula in a short time.
West-Brabant Corridor
In 2018, three inland terminals (BTT Tilburg - OCT Oosterhout - MCT Moerdijk) decided to bundle their volumes to and from the seaports. With this West Brabant Corridor (WBC) they offered a solution for the increasing congestion and delay of inland vessels in the seaports. In 2022, the Bergen op Zoom barge terminal will also be connected to the WBC.
The wide range of container volumes makes it possible to agree on 'fixed windows' per terminal in the seaport. Containers are supplied and removed via fixed sailing schedules and the residence time of the barges in the seaport is kept to a minimum. This created a very efficient, reliable and sustainable hinterland connection over the water.
Extensive storage options
BTT's terminals have extensive storage options for full and empty containers. This allows us to quickly remove your import containers from the seaport, so that no demurrage costs arise there. And you don't need the goods right away? Then we safely store your containers at our terminals for a much lower rate, until you call them off. We can also unload containers and temporarily store the goods in our warehouse.
